Henry's Hi-Life

In the busy world that we all live in, sometimes we seem to overlook what has always been there in search of the latest and greatest…

Last week I had tickets to go to an event downtown, and wanted to get some good grub before the event.  And Henry’s popped into my mind.  I had not been there in years, and thought it would be fun to head back.  And yes, I was happy I went!

The street has been redone to accommodate a large number of cars, but remember to bring change for the meters.  The area is safe, and easy to get in and out of.

The restaurant is separated into a “hanging-out” area, and the dining room.  You arrive, grab a number from the wall under the menu and order a drink.   Sometimes this area can be busy, others it can be empty.  The host (waiter or waitress) will call your number and take your order.  The menu is posted on wood boards on the wall.  I would recommend something, but everything is wonderful.

When your order is ready, or when a seat is made available   you are called to the dining room and ready to enjoy your dinner.  Salad, bread and awesome BBW sauce await you.  Oh, and did I mention that all of the cooking is done in the rear of the dining room?  Right there where you can watch!

Plan for about 45 minutes if not busy, 1.5 hours if busy.

Hey Chris! Sounds like the place to be if I ever find myself in your neighborhood.

Chris, you're so lucky. Several places where I'd been in the past and had a great time have fallen on hard times. I can remember a couple of places that I took my kids thinking I'd like to share my memories about this place. We would arrive and the place would have gone downhill. You have the magic touch!
